Not Waterproof
I have NB WW928 walking shoes which I love. I wear them every day including on off-road walks with the dogs. They are super comfy but lacked 2 things that made them inappropriate for rainy weather: 1) any kind of tread and 2) waterproofing.
So I went in search for shoes that were comfy as well as wearable in rainy weather. I came along these, the 959. The description says they are waterproof but they are not. The majority of the upper may be water-resistant but this weekend, I walked in wet grass for the first time (it had just rained) and the top of my socks got wet after just 15 minutes. Either the tongue of the shoe is the culprit or the little breathing holes at the top of the toe. Either way, this defeated my purpose for buying these shoes so I'm returning them. Thank goodness it rained within the return period window!

I Finally Found a Shoe That Feels Good
I love the great arch support and the cushy bottoms that make walking so much more comfortable. They also add a good barrier to the rocky gravel where I walk. The shoes are lightweight and easy to wear. They look better than any other walking shoe I've had. I have Fibromyalgia which causes discomfort with most shoes, but I can wear these longer than any other shoe that ties. I was about to give up on NB completely, but this shoe works for me and I'm very grateful that I found them. My only complaint about this shoe is that the right heel is a little loose.
I've worn New Balance for years because they fit best and they work for my daily walks up and downhill on gravel roads. I've had a huge problem lately because NB seems to have changed their sizing so they are no longer comfortable. I've tried several styles and they don't have good enough arch support and they don't feel as wide. The styles I've worn for the last couple of years were discontinued, and I haven't been able...
Not the right shoe for me.
Shoe did seem to have a little more padding on the sole, but I needed better support. Went back to 900 series. Not sure I should ding the shoe.
